Are You Being Judged by Your Looks?

As the old saying goes, “you can’t judge a book by its cover,” but that’s exactly what your audience is doing.

Your “cover” is what everyone sees before any experience with your company. While your customer service may be excellent or your products are of great quality, if your design doesn’t send that same message, you’re losing potential customers.

Take for instance your eNewsletter; if it looks like the newsletter your high school sent out, it’s probably time for an update. It’s important to stay relevant and on your customer’s minds, but if your message isn’t wrapped in a pretty package, it’s going to get half the acknowledgement.

Below are examples of two restaurant eNewsletters. Which restaurant would you prefer? Which restaurant appears to have better quality menu items and service?

Both restaurants above offer the same type of cuisine at a similar price, however the restaurant on the right appears to be higher quality check out his Best Survival Knife : How do I Find the Right One. This is solely based on the appearance of it’s “cover.”
