Everyone has a story to tell – even your business. And it’s that story that makes people feel something about your company. It’s that story that makes your customers and prospects want to engage with your company and even promote it to others. A good story can compel people to change, drive them to action, and ultimately increase revenue for your organization.
When marketing your company – or even just telling someone about it – what are you saying and how are you saying it? People want to get to know the true persona of your brand, in an honest and intriguing way. Gone are the days of just focusing on the benefits of your product. Today, storytelling is being used increasingly as a way to convey your brand message in a more impactful way – no matter what the medium (advertising, social media, websites, collateral, email marketing).
Apparently, people are naturally wired this way. Our brains are much more engaged when something is imparted to us in a story format rather than straightforward facts. Because our brains make little distinction between an experience we read about and one that actually happens, we’re more likely to remember a story than cold, hard data.
